1977 Pontiac Firebird
We love a great car story! Charlie and Linda were watching an auction on TV and Charlie saw a Firebird that he had to add to his collection. It just so happened that someone in the family had the same car. So, Linda called her sister-in-law to ask if she would be willing to sell it to Charlie, but she did one better – she gave it to Charlie. Wait – there was a stipulation – she and her daughter Gretchen would be allowed to drive it anytime. Charlie and Linda upped the ante by not only agreeing, but offering the car to Gretchen to keep once Charlie is ready to let it go.
You never know what you will find when you dig into a 40+ year old car. Jimmy started removing the many thick layers of undercoating – and holy cow – black gelatinous goo poured out onto him. Luckily, he is a good sport and Linda likes to bake, because we had to keep him upbeat during the undercoating removal. It was a fun restoration, parts are readily available and the technicians really liked the car and the owners.
